About

I am a writer and editor living in Seattle. I grew up in Oxford, Mississippi. After a brief stint as a theater major at The University of the South at Sewanee, I graduated in 2011 with a bachelor's degree in English from The University of Mississippi.

After graduation, I began working at Nautilus Publishing, a small publishing company in Oxford. I worked as an editor, researcher, writer, receptionist, shipping clerk, designer (barely) and eventually as managing editor. I managed our publication Princeton Health, coordinating freelance writers, editing content, and tracking production deadlines.

In 2013, I moved to Seattle and began freelancing. I still manage Princeton Health from afar, and I am constantly on the lookout for freelance writing and editing work. I also work as an occasional tutor. For more on my writing work, please visit my online portfolio.

A lover of magazines and books, I spend all of my free time reading. Some of my favorite magazines are Bitch, BUST, Rolling Stone, and MacLife. Picking out a favorite book is almost impossible, but some recent reads include The Magicians, Orange is the New Black, Cinder, ScarletSharp Objects, Gone Girl, and Gig: Americans Talk About Their Jobs. And when I'm not reading novels, I'm catching up on feminist nonfiction books, feminist blogs, and the occasional style blog.
